Our client is a global financial technology company specializing in international money transfers and currency exchange, offering low-cost, transparent solutions for individuals and businesses alike.

• Spearheading the implementation of a robust group risk management framework/policies, including the development of entity-specific protocols and procedures, establishment of risk appetite, and continuous monitoring of key risk indicators.
• Conducting comprehensive risk self-assessments, with a particular focus on security risks across business entities, adhering to established risk management principles, and providing support for remediation efforts and closure of identified risks.
• Investigating and analyzing incidents to ascertain root causes and impacts, with a particular emphasis on security incidents, and ensuring diligent follow-up on action items to mitigate future risks.
• Providing support to 1st line teams during regulatory audits, external assessments, or internal audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
• Fostering risk awareness through targeted training initiatives and regular communications to first-line staff, ensuring a culture of risk consciousness throughout the organization.
• Overseeing the implementation and optimization of risk management toolsets, leveraging technological solutions to enhance risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.
• Representing or supporting management during regulatory reviews pertaining to risk management, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and facilitating effective communication with regulatory bodies.
• Delivering timely risk updates to local boards of directors and assisting in the preparation of submissions to group risk committees, providing insightful analysis and recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
• Participating in regional or global projects related to various aspects of risk management, contributing expertise and insights to cross-functional teams.

• A profound understanding of risk management principles, coupled with expertise in risk systems, reporting tools, and security frameworks, including a deep understanding of security risk management.
• Knowledge of the payments industry is advantageous, although not mandatory.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders at both local and global levels, including compliance officers, operational risk teams, product managers, and first-line risk owners.
• Demonstrated independence, flexibility, and adeptness in managing multiple tasks or projects concurrently, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, as well as boards, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Background in security risk management or possession of relevant security-related certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent.
• Prior experience working within financial institutions, preferably with a focus on payments.
