Hip Replacement Procedure

This procedure is carried out after tests and diagnoses by a qualified doctor. Hip pain is mainly caused by arthritis resulting from wear and tear of the bones due to old age. There is wearing out of the ball socket causing pain in the front of thigh and groin, due to swelling and stiffness of the joint. A hip fracture resulting in sudden hip pain may also require hip replacement surgery.

The hip, being one of the largest joints in the body, represents a delicate and complicated procedure to operate. It is a ball and socket joint, where the doctor surgically removes the painful hip and is replaced with an artificial joint.
