LLOYD INDUSTRIES a proprietory firm, was established in the year 1989. The firm is in operation in the Fibreglass field for the last 20 years. LOCATION: The firm is situated in the Industrial Estate known as the Kundaim Industrial Estate.,in Kundaim, Mangueshi, Mardol Village in Ponda taluka. The workshop is approved by The Ministry Of Surface Transport (Mercantile Marine Department) for manufacture of life rafts of 12 persons and 20 persons in the year 1997. QUALITY CONTROL DURING PRODUCTION: As per the classification requirements the fibreglass moulding has to be carried out when the humidity is maximum 85%. per manufacturers recomendations the accelerator, cobalt octate is added to the previously weighed resin in the ratio of 1:1^(.5%) by weight depending upon the temperature and humidity. The catalyst (MEKP) is also added to the small batches of resin in the ratio of 1:1^(.5%) to have the correct measures of catalyst as well as accelerator the calibrated gauges are kept in the workshop. Depending upon the quantities required the glass, CSM, is taken in the ratio of 1:2:3 by weight, then the moulding is commenced. After the job is completed the finished piece is also weighed to determine the correct quantity of resin has gone in. Periodically samples of finished goods are cut and are sent to testing laboratories to check up the tensile strength of the material.The moulding is done inside the shed to avoid direct sunlight draft and dust. The workshop is cleaned daily after spraying water on the shop floor to avoid inclusion of the dust in moulding. The pigments added to colour the items are manufactured to suit Polyester Resin. In no case more than 8% pigment are added.
